Brandon Hassell, who I basically forced into being my best friend when he came to Greeville Christian Academy in seventh grade and has put up with the title since, told me once that I wrote like Rob Bell and should check him out.
Which means I write in single-sentence paragraphs like this.
Word.

For those of you new to the blog, I’m going to be maintaining a “Blackmon watch” throughout the summer to keep up with former Barton all-American catcher Dennis Blackmon, a third-year minor league in his first year of affiliated ball with the Boston Red Sox’s Class A Advanced Lancaster JetHawks in California. Blackmon joined the team after having his independent league contract bought by the Red Sox last Octoboer after two successful seasons with the Joliet Jackhammers of the Northern League.
As of May 10, 2008, Dennis Blackmon is hitting .304, seventh on the team, with a .429 slugging percentage (eighth) and .359 on-base percentage (seventh) with one home run and nine RBIs. Jon Still, the team’s number one catcher, is hitting a sixth-highest .306 with nine home runs and 20 RBIs (team-highest .595 SLG and fourth-highest .388 OBP).
With team web site displaying a May 10 loss of 25-1, I decided Dennis would likely be in no mood to talk, though for next week’s update I plan on having an interview.

It’s been a frustrating couple of days for creating iVids here as I visit my Katie in Georgia, but we – I – finally got some rolling for you. It’s me and Katie doing her best not to be in them. Enjoy!
