A post!

August 14, 2008

So, I’ve been getting pretty crappy at leaving posts on this blog. I don’t know if it’s because of working full-time as, essentially, a writer, or because I’m starting to spend my free time messing with our wedding website (brandonandkatie.weddingwindow.com, if you’re interested, but be warned, it be rough thus far!), or because I am tired from working out when I get done with work, or if it’s because I try to use what writing inspiration I have to write the novel I’ve been writing. Or if I’m just burnt out of it all.

Nah, definitely not that last one.

How the week goes by

August 8, 2008

It’s incredible how quickly a week can go by. It’s Friday night and feels like it oughta be Tuesday night. And I have done a thoroughly crappy job of providing updates of all our adventures as I said I would.

The new look/vacation

August 5, 2008

As I like to do from time to time, I have switched the site up again.

Just felt like it.

By the way, I’m on vacation this week. And it’s nice. Rode down to Topsail Island’s Surf City on Saturday with the fiance, Katie, and her family. Planning on being here until next Saturday, when we have to check out by 3. It’s been solid so far, despite a few oddities. Read the rest of this entry »

Going Division I

August 2, 2008

That’s right, folks.

I chose Division II, but I am going Division I.

As a sportswriter, anyway.

This weekend, I am getting my first experience covering something in Division I athletics. I am doing a story on East Carolina University’s defensive lineman-turned-tight end Willie Smith, a 2002 graduate of North Johnston High School, the local Johnston County school I cover for sports.

As for what the story’s about, well, pick up an issue of the Kenly News sometime in the next couple of weeks. Probably August 13.

As for how well I am doing, well … if it was going well, I certainly wouldn’t be blogging just to brag.
