If you don’t realize how our economy and Yankee Stadium are practically the same, then, well, I guess you haven’t read this column yet.

That’s all ESPN’s programming covered Sunday afternoon. Yankee Stadium, not the economy. It was the arena’s final day of baseball, as the once-mighty Yankees have floundered out of playoff contention, aimed overboard of the playoff boat for the first time since 1995. They beat the Orioles Sunday night, 7-3, for the final splash of color in the metaphorical sunset of the legacy-laden stadium’s final homestand. (more…)
