I’m no movie critic. But I am a movie fanatic. I believe in their power to inspire and educate, to mold and to entertain. And, well, there’s just nothing better than a well-made movie.
That said, I have ask the Oscar nomination committee — whoever the heck they are — what are you thinking?
While Heath Ledger was, as predicted, posthumously nominated for the best supporting actor category for his performance as The Joker, The Dark Knight received no nomination for Best Picture or Best Director (Christopher Nolan).
Some critics have said the movie carried no plot, it was nothing more than another lame comic-book adaptation filled with violence and nothing else, others have said it was too dark to be a good movie. Some went as far as to say that if Heath Ledger hadn’t died, the movie wouldn’t have done half as well.
